Update Regarding Group and Account Balance Corrections
Key Takeaways
Recent backend updates caused incorrect duplicate Robux payouts for holds created between June 21 and June 24. We are correcting account balances to accurately reflect actual earnings.
Hi Creators,
We want to share details about recent corrections to group and account balances so you understand why these changes didn’t create new line items in your transaction logs.
What Happened
While making updates to our backend holds system, we introduced a bug that impacted 30-day holds created between June 21 and June 24. When those holds cleared 30 days later (between July 21 and July 24), the system accidentally released the funds twice instead of once.
How this worked in practice:
•
On June 21, a sale created a 30-day hold for 1,000 Robux.
•
On July 21, the system was meant to release 1,000 Robux to your balance. The system incorrectly released 2,000 Robux but only created one transaction log entry for 1,000 Robux.
•
On July 24, we detected the issue and temporarily paused group payouts and holds processing to investigate, which caused a temporary delay in pending hold releases. To correct the overage, our systems deducted the duplicate Robux from your balance to accurately reflect your actual earnings.
•
Group payouts and holds processing are now fully unpaused. Our systems are actively processing all delayed and newly created holds, which you will see reflected in your account and Group balances over the next few days.
Balance Corrections and Support
We want to be clear that Roblox is not deducting any of your earnings. We know seeing your balance change without an entry in your transaction logs causes confusion. We appreciate your patience and understanding, and we will follow up with more information soon.
Let us know if you have any questions or feedback.
Thank you.
